Social Skills Training and Asperger Syndrome
Many children with Asperger Syndrome are visual learners. That is, they see it and they imitate. So what better way it seems to teach social skills than through video modeling. One of the video modeling sites is Model Me Kids www.modelmekids.com which has dvds as well as some free worksheets. The videos are on topics like school, playdates, reading cues in conversation, and friendship.
As my son has gotten older, he has watched some videos I prefer he not watch. He still imitates what he sees. So it is more important than ever that he watch only behavior as much as possible.
